Prayers appreciated

On Monday I’ll be in Blackstone, VA (with at least 6 inches of snow, I think!) for my interviews with the Board of Ordained Ministry. The last three years I have served as a “probationary” or “provisional” elder and I’ve applied for admission to the conference as an “elder in full connection.”

What that means for me is that I’ve written a LOT of theological reflection and will spend about 4 hours discussing it with members of the Board. I liken this process to a professor seeking tenure. After a few years of professional work one needs to show evidence of the fruit of this work in order to gain a more permanent professional status.

I expect it to be fun and nerve-wracking because while my interviews will be Monday morning I won’t hear back for a week or so if I am approved this year, or if I’ll need to apply again next year.

Thoughts/prayers/angels sent my way are much appreciated!
